Introducing Flexible Preschool Enrollment Options for the 2019-2020 School Year
We are excited to announce our plans for our early childhood program for the 2019-2020 school year. As we move to a new building with more space designed specifically for early childhood education, we will tailor our preschool program to better meet the needs of the families we serve. While you will see small changes to our preschool calendar and daily schedule, please rest assured that our hands-on, play-based approach to learning that you know and love will remain the same.
Beginning next fall, our early childhood program will offer half-day or full-day preschool classes for children ages three and up. After settling on a half or full-day schedule, you will have the option to enroll your child two, three, four or five days per week. Our minimum enrollment recommendations, based on age, are listed below.
3-year-olds: two half-days per week
4-year-olds: three half-days per week
5-year-olds: five half-days per week
After selecting the number and length of days that your child will attend preschool, you will also have the flexibility to choose which days of the week your child attends class.
A half day of preschool will begin at 8:15 a.m. and end at 11:15 a.m. Half-day classes will look similar to our current preschool program and will not include a lunch hour. A full day of preschool will start at 8:15 a.m. and end at 3:15 p.m. The full-day program includes a lunch hour and rest time, as well as all of the wonderful elements of our current preschool program. Our before and after school program will continue to run as a drop-in program from 6:45-8:00 a.m. and 3:15-6:00 p.m.
Preschool enrollment will open to current SFLS families and members of our association churches on January 7. Enrollment will open to the general public on January 14. To ensure that we are able to accommodate your family’s preferred preschool schedule, please turn in your child’s enrollment form as soon as possible.
