Senior Spotlight: Grant Prouty

As graduation draws near, we’re sitting down with the class of 2024 to talk about their time at Sioux Falls Lutheran School and what the future holds.

Name: Grant Prouty

College/University accepted to: Peru State College

Intended field of study: Business or Finance

What makes Peru State a good fit for you? 
It’s a small college. It’s a good environment for someone who went to a small high school.

How did you feel when you received the news of your acceptance?
I felt excited that I would be experiencing a new chapter in my life at Peru.

How did you decide on a school/field of study?
I like learning about business and how businesses are run.

Which classes, programs, and/or faculty at Sioux Falls Lutheran School helped support your interest in your planned field of study/career field?
Mr. Albers’s personal finance class and Coach Strande’s support through the sports I had with him were the most helpful.

Please share any other activities that had a significant impact on you during your time at SFLS.
All of my sports throughout my high school career have been very impactful.

What is your favorite high school memory/moment?
I always enjoyed van rides to sporting events.

I am inspired by or grateful for…
I am grateful for all of my friends and family who helped me get through high school.

If you could go back and change one thing, what would it be?
I wouldn’t change anything.

What advice would you share with underclassmen at SFLS?
Have fun and enjoy high school, because it only gets harder.

What is your favorite Bible verse?
“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” –Philippians 4:13
