Joshua Heirigs
SFLS Class of 2003

  • Graduate of Lincoln High School.
  • Graduated in December (2010) from Concordia University.
  • Pursued a degree in Theology.
  • Director of Christian Education program.
  • Currently fulfilling an internship at Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa; finishing the DCE certification.

“What I loved most about SFLS was how well it prepared me for the world.
While an average student in every way at SFLS, I went to Lincoln High where
I became an AP Scholar with Distinction and then to Concordia were I was
on the Dean’s list every semester. I attribute this acceleration to how SFLS
challenged me.”

Jacob Lias
SFLS Class of 2003

  • Enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and music (especially guitar).
  • Started playing soccer at age 5 and continued through college, playing for Concordia University.
  • Set to graduate in May with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography (minor in History).
  • Future aspirations include graduate school and a career with the National Park Service.

“Looking back I can say that the best thing about SFLS is that it more than adequately prepared me for the next level of academics. In high school I felt I was ahead of the majority of my peers in certain classes [especially English].”

And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you. (Phil 1:6)

Aaron Sailer
SFLS Class of 2003

  • Moved to Sioux Falls from St. Louis in 1999 and started 4th grade at SFLS.
  • Graduate of Lincoln High School.
  • Currently a senior at Concordia University-Seward, studying Accounting and Business Administration.
  • Future aspirations include taking the CPA exam and working for a public accounting firm in Nebraska or South Dakota.

“I enjoyed the time with my classmates, especially on basketball trips and the
8th grade trip to the Twin Cities. Having recess in eighth grade was pretty
awesome too!”

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength. McKenzie Perry
SFLS Class of 2010

  • Enjoys tennis, volleyball and spending time with friends.
  • Involved in Pep Band, Marching Band and Concert Band at Washington High School.
  • Plans to join the Jazz Band, Prom Committee and Washington High School’s volunteer organization: SALSA.
  • Future aspirations include becoming a music teacher—instructing all levels and offering lessons.

“What I loved about SFLS was the people, the concentration [you] have in the classes, as well as the size and proximity to everything. You become good friends with your classmates and everyone participates in athletics, no matter their ability level. Most importantly, Christ was in our curriculum every day!”

And in all things God works for the good of those who have been called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)
