Our elementary offers a positive environment where young children thrive in a family-like atmosphere to encourage development of talents & abilities.
SFLS offers two Kindergarten option: a half-day morning program and a full-day program that adds an afternoon enrichment program. The curriculum is a complete program of academic and social experiences which prepares your child for the elementary grades. Spanish instruction begins in Kindergarten and continues through the elementary years. Computer classes, art, general music, and physical education are all part of the Kindergarten day. Once a month the Kindergarten class visits a local nursing home to sing to the residents as part of the SFLS emphasis on community service.
The daily schedule for elementary classes includes strong academic instruction, art, music, Spanish instruction, physical education, and technology instruction. Students have chapel once a week with a local LCMS Lutheran pastor, keeping God at the center of their education. Our excellent music program offers:
- Band-with instrument instruction beginning in the 4th grade
- Piano and individual instrumental music lessons (offered during or after the school day for scheduling convenience)
- Music competition and community performance opportunities.
Art, science and health fairs are offered during the school year for student participation. All this in a setting of small class size with a lot of personal attention.
